As amazing as viewing the work of nature from the air, is surveying the veneer of civilization applied by humankind to the land.
“Texas Irrigation Circles” was photographed from the Flying Carpet over the Texas Panhandle near Dalhart, on a long journey home from South Carolina to Arizona.
For those who aren’t familiar, such irrigation systems draw water from a source in the middle of each agricultural field, and distribute it to crops through a large pipe that rotates slowly around the field on wheels. They’re common in dryer climates like the western Great Plains.
