Greg captured this view of Southeastern Arizona’s Needle’s Eye Wilderness on a flight between Safford and Glendale. Only from the air does the Gila River fully reveal its seemingly impossible course, flowing from lower left through the Mescal Mountains’ ancient strata of upturned rock at upper right. M.C.
