“Isabel, Kansas”

Views from the Flying Carpet Fine Art Print series

Greg photographed “Isabel, Kansas,” southwest of Wichita, on an early-morning flight homeward to Flagstaff, Arizona.

By aligning with a skewed railroad track rather than the surrounding north-south farm grid extending hundreds of miles in every direction, the town floats disconcertingly disconnected from its surroundings.

Although Greg’s never visited Isabel on the ground, he doubts many residents or terrestrial visitors perceive its proximity to “the Twilight Zone.”
