“Gila River threads the Needle’s Eye Wilderness”

Views from the Flying Carpet Fine Art Print series

Greg has always been intrigued by visual anomaly, whether discovered on the ground or from the air.

Greg captured this view of Southeastern Arizona’s Needle’s Eye Wilderness on a flight between Safford and Glendale. Only from the air does the Gila River fully reveal its seemingly impossible course from lower left through the Mescal Mountains’ ancient strata of upturned rock at upper right. M.C. Escher from the air! (Click image for a closer look.)
